Academies of Central Arkansas to be Officially Designated a “Ford Next Generation Learning Community”

WHAT:  The Academies of Central Arkansas is a joint initiative of the four public school districts across Pulaski County, the five chambers of commerce and community, business, and elected leaders broadly. The model transforms the public high school experience by blending core academics with career and technical education using a system called Ford Next Generation Learning. Having completed the master planning stage of the transformation, the four districts that comprise the Academies of Central Arkansas will be officially designated as Ford Next Generation Learning Districts and added to a growing network of over 40 communities across the globe.

WHY: Thursday’s event will celebrate and recognize hundreds of teachers, school leaders, community volunteers, business leaders, and elected officials who have worked to build the initiative during the master planning phase. Over a dozen initial cornerstone business investors will also be announced at the event.
